Nation’s “
BestAirport Retailer,” Offers
World Class Customer Service…
SPRINGFIELD-BRANSON NATIONAL AIRPORT
— The Paradies
Shops, the nation’s leading airport retailer, will open two stores in
Springfield with the opening of the airport’s new midfield terminal early next
year.
“This is very good news for airport
customers,” says Gary Cyr, airport director of aviation. “Paradies provides
something that is sorely missing in the world of commercial aviation: customer
service!” In February the company won the “Best Airport Retailer” award from Airport
Revenue News. It was the 13th consecutive year Paradies has received the prestigious award.
Paradies will have two stores in the
new terminal, CNBC News and Route 66 News and Gifts.
“The Paradies Shops is excited to
bring two great store concepts to
Springfield-BransonNationalAirport
celebrating a national brand with CNBC News and a local brand with Route 66
News and Gifts. We would also like to thank the airport selection committee for
their confidence in choosing The Paradies Shops to operate its new retail
program,” said Gregg Paradies, president and CEO. “We look forward to bringing
a first class shopping experience to the travelers of Springfield-Branson by
offering a dynamic program providing superior customer service, beautifully
designed stores, and the best merchandise assortment for the best value.”
CNBC News
As the globally recognized leader in
business news, CNBC News will bring the
Springfield
travelers “today’s news today.” This trusted name in news will capture the
attention of the traveling public with a clean and crisp alternative to
traditional newsstands. In addition to offering an online station for customers
to check their stocks or browse the latest headlines, CNBC News offers
customers a recharge station to charge up their laptops and handhelds, as well
as the popular Read & Return Program— a Paradies airport exclusive.
Customers have come to love the Read & Return Program, through which they
can buy a book, read it, return it, and receive 50 percent of their money back.
Route 66 News and Gifts
Featuring a store design reflecting
the celebrated “
Main Street of
America,” Route
66 News and Gifts features an extensive merchandise assortment to include news,
magazines, books, convenience items, snacks, and souvenirs. Additionally, a
blood pressure machine will be prominently displayed where heart-smart
customers and employees of the airport or airlines can easily perform a
self-check.
Exclusive Paradies promotions will
also be offered in this super-charged concept: the highly regarded and much
sought after Read & Return Program, and local Vendor Fairs, where vendors
local to the
Springfield
and Branson area will have a chance to show their products that could be
featured in Route 66 News and Gifts.
About the
Midfield
Terminal
In June of 2006 the
Springfield-BransonNationalAirport
broke ground for a new terminal. Located on the west side of the airport, the
new facility will open in early 2009. Besides plenty of room and ease of use,
the new terminal offers something less tangible—curb appeal. Not only will
customers enjoy using it, it will be a selling point for the airport and the
region. It will show the world that
Southwest
Missouri offers the best of both
worlds: great quality of life and world class transportation facilities.
Besides offering the obvious
customer benefits of a new building, the new terminal will address several
major issues:
The current terminal has run out of room to park
jetliners overnight. Operationally speaking, this is a huge issue. 14
jetliners park in
Springfield
for the night. In the morning, they all want to leave as early as
possible, but they can't because they have to take turns at the loading
gates.
The passenger capacity of the current terminal
is about a million passengers a year. We expect to have more than that
within the next few years.
Security. The current terminal was built long
before post 9/11 security requirements. Baggage screening is jury-rigged
in an old airline office; the passenger screening area is crammed into its
current space and more stringent security is on the way. The new terminal
will be built to accommodate modern security requirements.
