Atlanta, GA – March 13, 2012 – Paradies, the award-winning
industry leader in airport concessions, was unanimously approved for a 10-year agreement to operate the
concession program at Long Beach Municipal Airport (LGB).
“We are extremely excited to
expand our relationship at LGB by adding the best local food and beverage
operations,” said Gregg Paradies, president and CEO of Paradies. “The
new terminal is incredibly well-designed, and through our partnership with
Studio One Eleven, we will develop a program that embodies the spirit of the
Long Beach community.”
Long Beach Business Journal
Publisher George Economides said the publication’s staff is excited and honored
to be part of the Paradies' team. “While it’s great that the Business Journal
name will be exposed to upwards of three million airport visitors, we see this
as an opportunity to promote the city. About half of the airport users are here
on business, so we will be pushing Long Beach as a great location to open a
business or to hold that next meeting.”
The new locations
at LGB will include:
· Polly’s Gourmet Coffee & Sweet Jill’s Bakery - With premium beans roasted and delivered daily from
the original location, Polly’s will serve light to full-bodied roasts, blends,
decaffeinated and flavored coffees along with delicious teas. Sweet Jill’s will
offer home baked treats from muffins, scones and croissants to cakes, cupcakes
and pies, as well as her famous cinnamon rolls - all made from scratch using
only the freshest and finest ingredients.
· George’s Greek Café - Known as
an institution on Pine Street for 28 years, George’s Greek Café will offer a
quick casual menu highlighting the traditional Greek cuisine from what has
become one of Long Beach’s most admired restaurants in the city.
· Long Beach Burger Bar by McKenna’s - Founded on
the belief that travelers deserve to eat quality food without compromising
style and fun, Long Beach Burger Bar will feature mouth-watering burgers, onion
rings and hand-spun milkshakes.
· Taco Beach Cantina – Inspired
by the original in Long Beach, Taco Beach Cantina will offer a wide variety of fresh
items, from the one-of-a-kind Potato Tacos and Red Corn Shrimp Taquitos to
fresh, made to order salads and soups, sizzling fajitas and Especiales, as well
as icy cold beers and cocktails.
· McKenna’s on the Bay - As a staple in the Long Beach community for three
decades, the full service location at LGB will feature signature favorites, including
Crab Cakes, Ahi Tuna Salad and Grilled Australian Sea Bass. Sweet treats and
potent pick-me-ups from Polly’s and Jill’s will also be available at this
inclusive location.
· 4th Street Vine - Offering a unique selection of boutique California wines, craft beers and
small tapas plates, 4th Street Vine at LGB will mirror the eclectic
original location. The wine bar will feature a variety of boutique California
wines that can’t be found in local wine markets or grocers, and the craft beer
selection will be hand-picked to encompass a number of regional and
international brews. Additionally, events
featuring local artists and musicians will be held to entertain the travelers
enjoying a stress-free respite at 4th Street Vine.
· Long Beach Business Journal News & Long Beach Experience - Serving as the “voice of business” since its
premiere edition in 1987, the Long Beach Business Journal is the ideal
newsstand to present Long Beach’s rich and deeply rooted history to locals and
visitors alike. This store will encompass a broad selection of reading
materials, sundries, local souvenirs, travel and business accessories, fresh
“grab and go” food and beverage items, and will feature Paradies’
unique marketing programs: Read and Return and Recharge!
Long Beach Experience will
showcase all that is special about the Long Beach community, with apparel from
the famous Long Beach Clothing Company, and gifts and souvenirs featuring the
Queen Mary and other Long Beach attractions.
