Down East MarketPlace
Down East Enterprise is a multimedia company devoted to celebrating "Maine at Its Best." Founded in 1954, the company's flagship publication, Down East: The Magazine of Maine has captured the reader's attention with stunning photography, beautiful story-telling, Maine humor, dining, and more.
Since 1977, Down East has also published books by the state's best authors and artists, with a list of more than 800 books published to date. Today Down East is excited to deliver the best available coverage of lifestyle, destination, and "good curiosities," as well as hot topics facing Mainers and those who love the Pine Tree State through the magazine, the Web, social media, apps, video, and now the Down East Marketplace at the Portland International Jetport.
The 1,700-square-foot MarketPlace, complete with an "Experience Maine" interactive kiosk and Down East branded TV programming about Maine, is located in the Jetport's newly expanded terminal, and allows Down East to offer customers new ways to access the information they have come to rely on. The two million visitors who pass through the Jetport each year can shop for a wide array of top-quality Maine-made products, including food, clothing, travel accessories, gifts, books, magazines, and more from the state's most respected companies.
