A snowstorm had socked in the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport. Should she close her Paradies Shop at the regular time, or continue to serve stranded travelers?
With employees already gone for the evening and others unable to come in because of the weather, Cher, senior team leader for The Paradies Shops, decided to run the company’s main store all night to help frustrated travelers.
Throughout the late evening and early morning hours, customers continued to walk in from other concourses. Cher never saw a point where she could close the store.
So she worked all night, patiently waiting on travelers until the morning crew was able to come in. She then helped restock the store. As a dedicated employee, she did not leave until she felt confident she could.
After Cher left, several stranded passengers who had come in during the late evening and early morning hours, commented on the first-class service Cher had shown them. They were overjoyed a store remained open for them to purchase snacks, clothing, health and beauty products – even comfortable pillows on which to rest their heads.
Cher’s heroics that snowy night are typical of The Paradies Shops employee. Earlier that week, Cher was walking throughout the concourse when she was approached by a traveler who needed a wheelchair. With no one available to assist the traveler, Cher found a wheelchair and helped the passenger to the gate.
