Dora Murillo Innovates at a Critical Time

Dora Murillo, a Senior Team Lead in Phoenix, has a few stories that exemplify The Paradies Shops’ Core Values – Trust, Respect, Integrity, First-Class Service, Innovation and Culture. Last Christmas, one of our associates mentioned that due to finances, her children would not be able to get presents. Dora put on her Santa hat, and bought each of the associate’s children a present, wrapped neatly and delivered on Christmas Eve. A firm believer in Paradies’ family culture, Dora made a friend’s Christmas a little brighter.

Dora’s next story shows her commitment to Integrity, First-Class Service and Innovation. In April 2009, one of the locks on the glass doors in our CNBC store was broken. Dora arrived at 8 am, and was informed that the glass door repairmen had actually been waiting since 6 am for somebody to escort them through security to the store – needless to say, they were not happy. After Dora tried to escort them through security to no avail (their tools were not allowed through security), she knew there must be another way to safely get the repairmen to the store, ensuring the broken lock does not become a loss prevention issue.

Dora escorted the repairmen downstairs, and found another route to the store – by car! Enlisting the help and approval from a City of Phoenix employee, she was able to get the repairmen to the store to fix the broken lock. In a true display of professionalism, Dora is well-deserving of the First Class Associate of the Year Award.
