December 2008 brought the worst snow storm to Portland, Oregon in over 20 years, cancelling over 200 flights at PDX. With the snow impeding the commutes of several associates, Ria Roncales sprung into action.
Ria, a Senior Team Lead, worked non-stop during the five days of the storm, calling associates and working the stores. She spent four nights in a local airport hotel to ensure the Portland location had a game plan for each morning. Working with the General Manager of the location, Ria coordinated with many of the associates who also stayed at the local hotel to make sure we had the manpower to open the stores during this time. As a result of Ria’s leadership and determination, the stores were open on time each day.
Showing great leadership in a very crucial time, Ria made sure that The Paradies Shops’ operations at PDX stayed open to serve the traveling public.
